Graphite electrode is made of petroleum coke, needle coke as aggregate, coal tar pitch as binder, after a series of processes such as mixing, kneading, molding, roasting, impregnation, graphitization, mechanical processing produced by a high-temperature resistant graphite conductive material.

According to the different allowable current density, it is divided into ordinary power, high power and ultra-high power.

Used in electric arc furnace

Graphite electrode material can be mainly used in electric furnace steelmaking. Electric furnace steelmaking is the use of graphite electrode into the furnace to introduce the working current. The strong current at the bottom of the electrode can be through these gas environments to produce the influence of arc discharge, using the heat generated by the arc to smelting. The size of the electric capacity, equipped with graphite electrodes with different diameters, can be used continuously, against the connection between electrode joints electrodes. Graphite as electrode material for steelmaking accounts for about 70 ~ 80% of the total amount of graphite electrode used in China.

Used in mineral thermal electric furnace

Used for the production of iron furnace ferroalloy, pure silicon, yellow phosphorus, calcium carbide and matte, which is characterized by the lower part of the conductive electrode buried in the charge, so in addition to the electric plate and the electric arc between the charge to produce heat, current through the charge resistance also produced heat.

Used of resistance furnaces.

In the process of production, graphitization furnace for graphite material products, furnace for melting glass and electric furnace for silicon carbide are resistance furnaces. The material management in the furnace is not only a heating resistance, but also the object to be heated.
